One of the biggest lies in money management is believing you’re saving money when you take advantage of some sort of money off deal to buy something you weren’t planning on. You’re essentially spending to save. It’s backwards thinking, but we all do it. I’m really guilty of this one—my brain automatically thinks ‘look at how much I’m saving! Just keep in mind that hopping on a “free shipping today only” or “buy one, get one half off” deal for something you didn’t need isn’t saving, it’s spending. It has a huge impact on your budget.
