Be careful buying everything you think you need, especially up front. For example, first time parents are constantly told by retailers what they must have for their newborns. If you want to save money, take an experienced parent with you when you shop for baby. Someone who can tell you that what and what isn’t a necessity. At least up front. This works in many other areas too. Maybe your child wants to start a new hobby, sport, or instrument. Talk to a friend who’s already had a child go thru the same thing. That can help you determine what you need up front, so you don’t waste money on supplies if your child doesn’t stick with it.
