Sometimes automating things can make us lazy.  It’s good to automate stuff like transfers from checking to savings to help create a little nest egg.  But don’t let the automation make you lazy.  Yeah, moving your own money from one account to the other is pretty mindless, but what about automating your bill pay. It’s super convenient and sometimes cheaper to pay online or thru auto bill pay, but that doesn’t mean you can stop pay attention to the bill itself.  You need to make sure you aren’t getting charged for services that you’re not getting. It also helps to periodically review automated bills to decide whether you still need the level of service you’re paying for.
