Some people LOVE to exercise. I am not one of those people.
Obviously, exercise is important, so I look for ways to do it that are fun for me. And riding my bike is at the top of that list. I don’t feel like I’m working out when I’m biking. I feel like the 10-year-old boy I once was, riding around with my friends.
Twelve years ago, I decided to train for and ride the STP – The Seattle to Portland bike ride. It was a blast. And this year, I’m going to do it again.
The beard is a little grayer than it was in 2006 and I’m not gonna lie. I feel the difference in those 12 years! The STP is 203 miles, ridden in two days, so it takes some dedicated training to get ready. And my butt is sore. But I’m having a great time.
I’ll be riding with some good friends, and I’m looking forward to the journey, and the feeling of accomplishment that comes from peddling over the finish line.

I’ll update this blog occasionally with thoughts and pictures as we continue to prepare. It’s not too late to sign up to do it too! Wanna join me and 10,000 other bikers in a great adventure?
