I have a consumer alert today that’s gonna help keep your money in your pocket! The Better Business Bureau published a list of top scams related to coronavirus, let’s quickly chat about a few so you know what to watch out for!
Phony Cure Scams: You may have seen them pop up online. Websites promising to cure the virus or prevent you from getting it! Just give them your credit card and they’ll send it to you.
Stimulus Check Scams: Scammers contact you and tell you that, for a fee, they can get you your money sooner than what the IRS is promising. Nope.
Employment Scams: Lots of people are looking for work online and people don’t want to go out, so phony ‘work from home jobs’ are on the rise.
Phishing scams are also on the rise because so many people are working from home, so it’s harder to check if that IT support is real or not.
And shortage scams and price gouging too with popular items like hand sanitizer and wipes.
