Compare unit costs and save!

When at the grocery store, don’t be fooled by the deals and be sure to keep an eye on the unit cost of anything you buy. If one brand has their soup on sale for 3 for $5, that sounds like a great deal, but the other soup that doesn’t have all the flashy sale signs that’s selling for $1.50 each is still cheaper.

Most grocery stores offer a unit price listing on the tag, so that you can compare, but some do not. Take a quick second to do the mental calculations or whip out the calculator on your smart phone to figure out what product gives you the biggest bang for your buck.
