We are thrilled to announce that our 2nd Annual Airwaves for Animals Radiothon on October 17th and 18th was an incredible success! Thanks to our generous listeners and event sponsors (we’re looking at you Neeter House of Luxury and Dewey Griffin Subaru) we surpassed our $50,000 goal, raising just under $56,000 – a 12% increase over last year!
The generosity didn’t stop with monetary donations. The Whatcom Humane Society Pet Food Bank went from empty shelves Friday morning to overflowing by mid-afternoon, thanks to listeners responding to urgent needs – some even purchasing pet food online and having it shipped directly to the shelter.
During the radiothon, WHS also offered adoptions for just $10.41, and the response was overwhelming. Adoption counseling appointments were fully booked for days, and several families returned Saturday afternoon to welcome their new pets into their homes.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by or tuned in – your support makes all the difference for local pets (and wildlife and farm animals) in need.
