Today is the 75th anniversary of D-Day, when the Allied forces landed at Normandy in World War Two, then kicked the Nazis out of France. It was a big part of the reason we won World War Two.
Jim Radford was only 15 when he served as the galley boy on a British ship at Normandy. He’s the youngest known D-Day vet, and he’s 90 now.
Back in 1969, he wrote a folk song called “The Shores of Normandy”. Now, he’s re-recorded it and for the last few days it’s been Amazon’s top selling single in the U.K.
