This year’s Whatcom Museum gala event will be on Friday, September 26th from 5pm-9pm at Chuckanut Bay Distillery in Bellingham!

You’ll be able to celebrate the enduring influence of French modernist visionaries like Auguste Renoir, Paul Cezanne, and Henri Matisse, whose works are on display at the Whatcom Museum.

This evening includes a VIP Absinthe Tasting from 5pm-6pm, the gala event with heavy appetizers, LIVE music, cocktails, and a silent auction from 6pm-9pm.

The Theatre Arts Guild presents “Moana Jr.” at the Lincoln Theatre in Mount Vernon with several shows between September 19th-28th!

This production features a cast of talented local youth as they bring the island of Motunui to life with music, colorful costumes, and inspiring storytelling.  Moana, and her brave friends, voyage across the ocean to restore the heart of Te Fiti and save the island.  Sing along to familiar songs and learn some new ones along the way.

This production is a 60-minute adaptation.  Due to the shortened run time, there is no intermission.

Check out the NEW Downtown Bellingham Ghost Tour!

Take a supernatural journey through downtown Bellingham, beginning and ending at the historic Chuckanut Bay Distillery (in the old JC Penny building).  It’s an evening of eerie tales and haunted happenings.  Then, cap off your adventure by savoring a drink from the Pennyfarthing as the tour concludes in the distillery basement.

Please note, this tour is focused on ghosts, ghost stories, and ghost hunting.  If you are looking for history tours, please visit our partner Bellinghistory with the Good Time Girls.

Tour details:

Cost: $25 a person  (drinks cost extra)
Tour runs for 1 hour 15 min
Walking distance is just under a mile.
Please be on time.  The longest the tour will delay will be 5 minutes.
Spots are limited.
Rating: Expect PG-13 themes
No pets allowed.  We will be going inside and outside.  

This event is 21+ only.  Special all ages tours will occasionally be offered.  Follow on social media or join the mailing list to learn when they happen.  

The tours happen rain or shine, please be prepared for the weather conditions.  Tours will be canceled for dangerous weather.

Wild Things is an educational morning at a Bellingham Park, designed for kids 0-6 years old and their adults.  Wild Things takes place Fridays & Saturdays from 9:30am-11:00am.

From the Wild Whatcom website:
In September, we discover colors in leaves that have been hiding until just now, mysterious mushrooms popping up in unexpected places, perhaps even memories from your childhood triggered by the scents of autumn in the air. There is so much happening both under our feet and at the surface this time of year.

Program is FREE, but there is a suggested donation of $10 per person, $20 per family.

They’re kicking off the year with a ton of carnival games, crafts, and activities for families.  They’ll have wristbands, tickets, and food for sale.  Plus, a silent auction with plenty of items to bid on.  It’s open to the WHOLE COMMUNITY…not just Cascadia Elementary School families.

If you’d like to volunteer, there’s still time to sign up.  Or, donate a game, craft booth, supplies, and more.
