WORKSHOP SCHEDULE FROM CONNECT FERNDALE:

The Science of Gender and Resistance with Hannah Smith 10am-11:15am
The Science of Gender & Resistance is for everyone! Are you an activist, ally, friend, or family member of a Queer person? This session will equip you to speak on the topic of gender and sexuality with clarity and confidence. Are you a member of the LGBTQIA+ community yourself? You’ll acquire new ways to explain what you’ve always innately known and, in exploring the neurobiology of “the other side,” you’ll gain perspectives that will help YOU stay focused & regulated when faced with difficult conversations.

 Supporting Trans Youth 1:15pm-2:30pm
Want to support transgender and nonbinary youth but worry about sticking your foot in your mouth? Have a gender diverse young person in your life who you want to better support?  Are you eager to build the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to effectively push back against misinformation and harmful policies impacting the lives of LGBTQ+ youth?  Join us for a 90-minute workshop to  step deeper into your role of making Ferndale a community where all young people can feel safe, valued, and welcome.

Panel Discussion- Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth In Ferndale 2:45pm-4:00pm
Want to learn about what LGBTQ+ youth need and want from their community? Come and listen as our panel of youth, parents, educators and advocates discuss how we as a community can support our LGBTQ+ youth to ensure their health, wellbeing, and safety in Ferndale.  Panel will be moderated by Page from Common Goodness Project.  All questions and discussion points have been created by the panelists, and there will not be an open Q and A.
