Whatcom Land Trust is holding a Community Work Party on Saturday, November 8th from 9am-12pm at the Rustatz Salmon Reserve.
Volunteers will be preparing the area to thrive through the wet winter by planting native trees and shrubs that will help restore habitat and removing invasive blackberry that has started to overtake the area.
The reserve is between the North Fork of the Nooksack River and Rustatz Road and has an amazing floodplain, young forest, and an active hay field. It’s home to annual salmon runs and bald eagles…even the occasional elk.
