Celebrate Trails Day is Saturday, April 25th with several events along the Salish Coast Trail! Check out these events that you can be a part of from the Recreation Northwest website:
Bellingham:
Salish Coast Trail Activation HUB in FAIRHAVEN
Bellingham Outdoor Research Retail Store
1501 12th St, Bellingham, WA 98225
The following activities will be leaving and returning to the OR Store as a HUB of activity. We’ll be on-site, sharing information about our regional trails and the work we have ahead.
Recreation Northwest Trails Coalition Tent
10:00 am – 4:00 pm Recreation Northwest staff and volunteers will host an informational table in the parking lot at Bellingham Outdoor Research Retail Store in Fairhaven.
WMBC Family Gravel Ride
10:00 am Fairhaven to Larrabee on the Salish Coast Trail – with a stop at Clayton Beach for lunch. This ride will be led (and swept) by WMBC Ambassadors. Please register with WMBC.
Dig Deep Tours Advanced Gravel/Mountain Bike Ride
10:00 am Leave from Outdoor Research for a lollipop loop in Chuckanuts. We’ll ride the Salish Coast Trail to Fragrance Lake Road, which we will climb up to access Lost Lake trail, then descend north to Arroyo Park, and return via the Salish Coast Trail. Led and swept by Dig Deep Tours guides. Duration about 3 hours.

Wander Women Adventure Group
11:00 am Join us for a scenic community walk along the Salish Coast Trail! We’ll follow the Interurban Trail, winding through the 100 Acre Woods, a peaceful stretch filled with towering trees and quiet forest paths. Our destination is the charming bridge in beautiful Arroyo Park, where we’ll pause to take in the surroundings before heading back the way we came. The full route is approximately 4 miles round trip at a relaxed, conversational pace. Shorter and longer options will be available along the way, so you can tailor the walk to your comfort level. Come enjoy fresh air, good company, and one of the area’s most beloved trails. All are welcome!

2:00 pm Tour Padden Creek Fish Passage with City of Bellingham Public Works
Tour of Padden Creek fish passage project on Salish Coast Trail. Walk with COB staff on a tour of the recently finished fish passage project that has resulted in some beautiful new bridges along the route of our trail. Sara Brooke Benjamin.
Stones Throw Brewery After Party
4:00 pm – 9:00 pm We’ll finish at Stones Throw Brewery to raise a glass (of Salish Coast TrALE) to the Bay to Baker & Salish Coast Trail and the partners that brought the community together for a day on the trails.
Blaine/Birch Bay
Blaine/Birch Bay Parks & Recreation District 2
11:00 am – 1:00 pm Blaine Community Center

Join Blaine/Birch Bay Parks & Recreation District 2 for a refreshing community walk along the beautiful Salish Coast Trail! Free & Open to the Public! 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
We’ll begin at the Blaine Community Center, stroll together to the iconic Peace Arch State Park, then continue on to L&L Bakery for a well-earned treat before heading back to the Community Center. Route: Blaine Community Center → Peace Arch State Park → L&L Bakery → Return to the Center. What to Expect: Scenic coastal views, Fresh air and gentle exercise, Friendly community connection, and an optional bakery stop for coffee or a sweet treat. This walk is free and open to all ages and abilities. Bring comfortable shoes, dress for the weather, and invite a friend!
