Scotty’s Weekend in 5 Photos

I forgot about the Oscars.  I forgot to take pictures at the most interesting part of my weekend.  So, here’s what I DID remember. 🙂

While my wife was at work, my daughters and I took advantage of the break in the rain to play at Star Park in Ferndale.  I looked away for 2 seconds and when I turned back around, my 6-year-old was across the monkey bars.  YAY for her, sniffles for me.  She doesn’t need me to hold her up there anymore. 🙁

My wife was still at work, so I was in charge of dinner…and I made my girls try something new. BISCUITS AND GRAVY!  They were more excited about the sausage and biscuits.  At least they tried a taste.  And, yes, we eat broccoli at just about every meal, no matter what.

Is it sad how excited I was for apples?  For months, I’ve wanted to try a Cosmic Crisp apple, but I had the hardest time finding them.  I finally found a bunch and, well, they were apples.

I had totally forgotten that our Christmas lights are still up until it was “politely” pointed out to me by one of my daughters when we got home from the park/errands.  In my defense, it hasn’t been the best weather to climb up on a sloped roof to get them down.  Maybe I’ll turn them on one of these evenings just to make my neighbors wonder what we’re doing.

I wasn’t going to put a picture of my cat, Calvin…but, look at how cute he is curled up on his bed.  My wife knitted it for him years ago and he just now will sleep in it.  It’s the perfect representation of what we all feel like by the end of the weekend at my house.
