Food Drive for Federal Employees

On Thursday, January 31st from 5:00pm-8:00pm, the Ferndale Food Bank is holding a special distribution for local federal employees who have been furloughed during the government shutdown.  The Lynden Project Hope Food Bank will also be open for a special distribution on the same day and time.

You can help stock the shelves to make these extra visits possible.  Make a donation at the Ferndale Food Bank, 1671 Main Street in Ferndale, between 8am-12pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.  Or, you can donate online at any time.  Donations for this food drive will benefit the three northern Whatcom County food banks in Ferndale, Blaine, and Lynden.

Dewey Griffin Subaru has challenged the community with a matching donation of up to $5,000 to help support this food drive!  For every two pounds of food, Dewey Griffin Subaru will match $1.  Or, they’ll match dollar for dollar your monetary donation.  Just note in your donation that it’s for this food drive campaign.

For more information on this food drive campaign, contact McKenzie Meyer with Dewey Griffin at 360-734-8700.
