KAFE 104.1 is proud to salute some of the Outstanding Women in the Northwest that have made an impact on other people’s lives.

Angelique Damon would like to honor her mom, Ginger Taylor:
My mother has always been the most capable woman I’ve ever met. Every hardship we have faced growing up, she would find something positive or even sometimes magical to pull from it. She told me that “if we are going to carry our bad experiences for the rest of our lives, we can at least make them sparkle.”

Tova Fry would like to honor her mother, Cherie Scott:
I am nominating my mom because she is the most selfless woman you will ever meet. She is semi-retired & spends her life taking care of others. During the day, she takes care of some of my grandchildren so that their mom can work and go to school. She reads to them, sings with them and is currently working on potty training. She doesn’t park them in front of the TV, she helps maintain the schedule necessary with 2-year-old triplet girls, and a brother, 9 months older. After she is done with the toddlers for the day, she cooks dinner & cleans for an elderly gentleman in our neighborhood every night of the week, weekends & holidays included. She also takes care of my uncle who has had several strokes & takes him to his doctor’s appointment & grocery shopping. She has been cooking dinner for my grandpa for the last several years & 2 days ago, he went on hospice. He is currently living with my parents & they are taking care of him, although my dad has taken on most that. She house & dog sits for many people. She would give you anything.
