Relay for Life

KAFE cares about our community!  The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is July 6th and 7th at a NEW LOCATION – Battersby Park in Bellingham!

You can still be a part of the fun:

START OR JOIN A TEAM
Get your family, friends, and coworkers together to raise money.  Many teams relay in honor of a loved one that has battled cancer.  Other teams just love to be part of the fun.  Teams are given a campsite at the Relay.  You can camp out for the duration of the event or host a variety of fundraisers from your site.  CLICK HERE TO REGISTER!

REGISTER AS AN INDIVIDUAL
You don’t have to be on a team to participate.  You are more than welcome to register as an individual and come walk at the event by yourself, or with your family and friends.  CLICK HERE TO REGISTER!

LUMINARIA BAGS
Luminaria bags are white paper bags with a loved one’s name on it.  You can purchase them to celebrate someone that has beaten cancer, for the fight of someone battling cancer, or in honor of someone that has lost their battle with cancer.  These bags are lined around the track with a candle inside each one.  At 11:00pm, a ceremony is held to recognize all of the luminaria.  Then, the candles are lit in each bag so that their light can guide the walkers all night.  Suggested donation per luminaria is $5.  CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE A LUMINARIA!

REGISTER AS A SURVIVOR OR CAREGIVER
Relay is about celebrating those that have fought, or are fighting cancer…and the loved ones that are fighting alongside them.  If you’ve ever heard the words, “You have cancer,” be sure to register as a survivor and be there to walk the first lap of the event.

DONATE
You don’t have to be at the event to make a donation.  You can donate to this year’s Relay for Life of Whatcom County here.

FUNDRAISERS

On June 26th from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Chipotle in Bellingham, be sure to mention the fundraiser to the cashier about this fundraiser and 50% of your order will be donated to Team PB&J at the Relay for Life of Whatcom County!

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
