OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

KAFE’s Dream Home Do-Over returns with your chance to win a $10,000 shopping spree to makeover your home.  Complete an entry form at one or more of the special Dream Home Do-Over Entry Broadcasts with your first and last names, city of residence, phone number, and birthdate between March 6 through April 7, 2017.  Entry broadcasts’ times and locations may be found by logging onto www.kafe.com.

One entry per person per broadcast. Multiple entries by an individual will disqualify all entries by that individual.  You must be present to enter.  At the end of each broadcast, up to 12 entries will be randomly drawn from all entries submitted by KAFE staff during the broadcast to be an Instant Qualifier at the Grand Prize event.  No need to be present to qualify. All qualifiers will be notified by telephone.  There will be up to a total of 96 qualifiers drawn in this manner.  If any entry drawn is deemed to be ineligible, it will be disqualified and an alternate entry will be drawn. Entrants and qualifiers will be chosen at the sole discretion of KAFE. An individual may only qualify for the grand prize one time.

Listeners will also have a chance to enter as a “Last Chance Qualifier” at the Holiday Inn & Suites Bellingham, 4260 Mitchell Way in Bellingham, WA, between 3:00pm-7:00pm on April 13, 2017.  KAFE staff will randomly draw up to 8 qualifiers to play THAT NIGHT during the Grand Prize event.

The Dream Home Do-Over Giveaway will be April 13, 2017 at the Holiday Inn & Suites Bellingham, 4260 Mitchell Way in Bellingham, WA.  All pre-qualified players must check in between 5:30-6:45pm at the Holiday Inn & Suites Bellingham, 4260 Mitchell Way in Bellingham, WA. Qualifiers must be in line at 6:45pm to be allowed to continue the process.  After that time, any qualifiers not in line will be disqualified.  Qualifiers must show valid Washington State ID and complete a waiver/release form. At approximately 7:05pm, KAFE staff will draw the 8 “Last Chance Qualifiers”.  They must be present at the time of drawing to complete their registration materials.  In addition, any spots not claimed by pre-qualified individuals will be drawn from the “Last Chance Entries” until we have a total of 104 qualifiers.

At approximately 7:15pm, the Grand Prize event will begin.  We will randomly draw qualifiers’ names to select 1 of 104 pre-numbered keys.  They will then use that key to attempt to unlock a door on-stage, in the order they’re drawn.  If it opens, they are the winner.  If not, their key will be removed from the contest and the next qualifier will attempt with their key.  This process continues until a winner is determined.  In the event the selected key does not open the door, a KAFE Staff member will present a sealed envelope with the winning key number inside. Winners we be chosen at the sole discretion of KAFE.

The winner will receive a $10,000 credit to be used as the winner wishes amongst the contest sponsors, consisting of:

Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named. No purchase necessary. KAFE’s sole responsibility will be to award the prize, and will have no responsibility if the winner does not use the prize. Winner is responsible for all state and federal taxes. Prizes are not transferrable or redeemable for cash.

Employees of KAFE, Saga Broadcasting, LLC dba Cascade Radio Group, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one-hundred-mile radius of the KAFE main studio are not eligible to win any contest.  Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.

The Grand Prize will be awarded after the winner has completed all applicable tax forms.  Due to the value of the prize, a W-9 must be completed and a copy of a Washington State issued ID must be submitted at the Cascade Radio Group offices during regular business hours.  Listener has until Friday, May 12, 2017 to complete the paperwork at the Cascade Radio Group offices.  After that date, if the paperwork has not been filled out, the winner will forfeit the prize.  The winner will be issued an embossed letter on KAFE letterhead to present at the sponsors of their choice as they spend their winnings.  Cascade Radio Group will then cut a check directly to the sponsor.  The winner has until July 31, 2017 to use their winnings.  At that time, any remaining balance will be forfeited.  Once the winner has a remaining balance of $50 or less, we will cut them a check for the difference.

These are the rules governing all contests aired on KAFE 104.1 radio and on the kafe-fm.sagacom.com website, unless otherwise specified. KAFE 104.1, its advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees, and immediate families of each are absolved and shall be held harmless from any action or liability arising from any contest or prize awarded in any contest.
  13. As a licensee of the FCC and a trustee of the public airwaves, KAFE 104.1 reserves the right to interrupt and/or discontinue any contest or promotion (and not award the offered prize) at the discretion of KAFE 104.1 management if world events, the national mood, or public safety so warrant.
  14. KAFE 104.1 reserves the right to amend the rules to any contest at any time. KAFE 104.1’s decision is always final.
  15. For any contest requiring phone entry you must use only the following number unless otherwise specified: 360-676-5233. For texting it is 77000. The person operating the telephone at KAFE 104.1 has the final decision as to who is the winning caller.
  16. KAFE 104.1 shall have no responsibility for contestant’s inability or failure to participate, failure to win or claim any prize based on malfunction or difficulties with telephone, cell phone, texting, email, or internet access, or any other circumstances in any contest beyond KAFE 104.1’s control.
  17. For any contest involving on-line voting: If an entrant receives irregular votes, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, or other automated means, KAFE 104.1 reserves the right to disqualify the entrant in its sole discretion and/or use another means to determine the winner(s), ex. – random selection or appointing a panel of judges.
  18. The following are specifically related to E-contests and E-Mail Club promotions on kafe-fm.sagacom.com:
    1. All appropriate information in required fields must be entered correctly and completely or you will be disqualified.
    2. To win a prize you must reside within the listening area of KAFE 104.1 as defined at the exclusive discretion of KAFE 104.1 management.
    3. Any problems with the internet or email are not KAFE 104.1’s responsibility.
    4. Contestants who register to participate on our website may be required to produce a printed copy of proof of registration before being allowed to participate in the contest.
    5. Due to the nature of our programs that are heard on-line over the internet, contests may not be heard at all on KAFE 104.1. Contests heard on the radio station’s internet audio stream may be slightly delayed from the time the contests are heard on the broadcast station, and will be running behind the broadcast signal. Thus, all contests heard on the internet are delayed. This delay can last for as much as 30 seconds or more. This means that when KAFE 104.1 contests are played that require a specific caller to telephone the radio station (such as “Caller number 9 when you hear the sound effect”), listeners to the on-line audio stream may be at a disadvantage in participating over those listeners who hear the contests on-air.
  19. A copy of these rules is available during business hours at the KAFE 104.1 studios 2219 Yew Street Road, Bellingham, Washington 98226.
