State of the City and WTA Tax on Docket Tonight

BELLINGHAM,Wash. -- Bellingham Mayor Dan Pike delivers his State of the City address to the City Council tonight.
Also on the docket is a public hearing on a resolution supporting a proposed tax increase to pay for transit bus service.
Earlier in the day the council is scheduled to take up a plan for spending "Greenways 3" levy money.
The council postponed action on the plan some time ago, choosing to wait until they had more information about the affected property; a parcel known variously as Fairhaven Highlands, Chuckanut Ridge and Hundred-Acre Wood.
The council meets at 7:00 tonight at City Hall.
