BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A popular trailhead will be temporarily inaccessible for outdoor recreationists.

Whatcom County Public Works says that the Stimpson Family Reserve trailhead will close for most of next month beginning on Sept. 1. The trailhead is expected to reopen once crews are done with all work in the area, which is expected to be completed in late September.

Crews will be repaving the parking lot, improving stormwater drainage and upgrade surfacing at the trailhead itself.

Drivers can expect traffic delays along Lake Louise Rd near the parking lot, construction equipment and vehicle traffic as well as noise stemming from the work being done at the trailhead.
