BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A police raid of a suspected fentanyl dealer in Bellingham turned up a possible explosive device.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Deb Slater says they, along with Bellingham Police officers, executed a search warrant at a residence on Lakeway Drive on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

During the search, officers found small amounts of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine, a handgun that had been reported stolen and about $3,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

They also recovered what they believe to be an improvised explosive device, which was taken to the police station for further processing.

Officers arrested the suspect, identified as 46-year-old Joshua Byram, whose last known address was in Blaine. He remains at the Whatcom County Jail without bail.
