Nonprofits in Whatcom and Skagit Counties receive over $70k in funding from Puget Sound Energy

WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Whatcom County nonprofit organizations are receiving over $50,000 in funding to address pressing needs around the community.

The Puget Sound Energy Foundation announced on Wednesday, Aug 14 that it’s awarding $500,000 in grants to 89 nonprofits around Washington as part of its 2024 community grant program.

The recipients include nine organizations in Whatcom County, which collected $50,500 in combined funding.

Evergreen Goodwill’s Bellingham location received the highest grant, totaling $8,000.

The Ferndale Food Bank and Sea Mar Community Health Center secured the next highest grant amounts of $7,500 and $7,000, respectively.

Wild Whatcom, Twin Sisters Market, Immigrant Resources and Immediate Support and the Whatcom Family YMCA will all receive $5,000. Kulshan Community Land Trust and Rebound of Whatcom County were each awarded $4,000.

Seven nonprofits in Skagit County are receiving an additional $27,500 from the grants.
