BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A thief stole a haul of collector’s items during a break in at a local business near downtown Bellingham.

Bellingham Police spokesperson Megan Peters says a burglary at the Launching Success Learning Store on State Street was reported around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8.

Launching Success told MyBellinghamNow.com that their front window was broken, and the suspect made off with about $1000 in Pokémon merchandise. A spokesperson for the store says they believe the break-in was planned, because the stolen items were located behind the counter, which is not visible from outside the store.

Despite the broken window, Launching Success says it’s still open for business.

BPD’s investigation into the burglary is ongoing.
