The 21-year-old man, Nurlan Varner, will spend the next four years in prison, followed by another six years of community supervision.

Varner pleaded guilty to two rape charges stemming from separate incidents that occurred in 2023. Additional charges connected to a third alleged sexual assault were dropped as part of a plea deal.

Once released from prison, Varner must register as a sex offender. He was transferred to the Department of Corrections’ custody on Sept. 10.
