BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Turns out you don’t have travel far to get to one of the 50 best places to visit in the world.

Online travel publication Travel Lemming released its list of the best places in the world to visit and Bellingham came in at number 43.

The article says Bellingham is a “quirky and youthful city defined by its culture, historic district and outdoor escapes.”

Other spots making the list include:

Brisbane, AUS

Kyoto, JP

Montreal, CA

Austin, TX

Portland, OR

If you want to visit the top spot on the list, you’ll have to book a long flight though.

Lombok, an island in Indonesia, came in at the number one spot and is described as “an island paradise flush with gorgeous beaches, cascading waterfalls, active volcanoes and friendly locals.”
