OLYMPIA, Wash. – Governor Jay Inslee has signed a bill that cracks down on people who illegally use disable-parking permits.

Cars with disabled-parking permits can park for free in metered spaces, but a lot of drivers are misusing the permits.

State Representative Sam Hunt says they force people who are actually disabled to park farther from their destination.

He says the bill will stop people from using expired, borrowed or stolen permits, and it’ll help cities that are losing parking-meter revenue.
