Mariners sign Gareth Morgan

Mariners Director of Amateur Scouting Tom McNamara announced that Seattle has signed Gareth Morgan, the club’s second selection (74th overall) in the 2014 First-Year Player Draft.

Morgan, 18, is listed at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds.

Morgan, a right-handed hitting outfielder, is a native of Toronto and a member of the Canadian Junior National Team.

He is scheduled to report to the AZL Mariners in the Arizona Rookie League.
