King Felix named AL Pitcher of the Month

Felix Hernandez has been named the American League Pitcher of the Month for June.

Hernandez went 3-1 with a 1.22 ERA  in 6 starts during the month. He struck out 54 batters during the month to tie for 2nd in the AL, the most strikeouts he has recorded in a month during his career.

This is the fourth monthly honor for Hernandez, who also won the award in August 2012, September 2009 and June 2009.

For the season, Hernandez is 10-2 with a 2.10 ERA and has recorded 137 strikeouts in his 18 starts.
