Experts say home prices too high

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Whatcom County home prices are too high and experts say it’s hurting home sales.

That trend follows what’s happening across the state too, a Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies report says first quarter sales of existing homes are down 7 percent from the same time last year.

Mike Kent of KGMI’s Radio Real Estate says Whatcom County homes are staying on the market longer than they should be.

He says even though inventory has picked up in the county, buyers are waiting for prices to come down.
