Hi, I’m Mandy! You might know me as Amanda Richards. My friends and family call me Mandy…and I hope you will too! I’ve been with KAFE for almost 9 years, and I’m so excited to get you know you better in my new role as part of the KAFE morning show: Dave and Mandy in the Morning!

Are you from around the Bellingham area? Poulsbo, originally. I came to Bellingham to go to Western way back in the 90’s…and never left!

Highest level of education: PhD in kicking butt and taking names. No, really.

Favorite TV shows: I’m a TV addict! Especially since DVR came into my life. I don’t remember life before DVR, and I don’t want to. Here’s just a few shows that I love: Revenge, Modern Family, Storage Wars, New Girl, Burn Notice, Extreme Couponing, Parks & Recreation, Snapped, Happy Endings, Psych, Jeopardy, The Good Wife, Once Upon A Time, Leverage, Desperate Housewives (can’t believe it’s the last season!!)

First concert ever: Well, if you don’t count seeing Raffi and Tim Noah when I was very young…my first adult concert was the Spin Doctors at the Seattle Coliseum!

Guilty pleasures: Tim’s Cascade Jalapeno Chips, Facebook stalking, the Royal Family, and Super Mario Kart.

One thing nobody would ever guess about me: I’m an official member of the National School Safety Patrol Hall of Fame.

I’ve never been able to: Whistle using my fingers. No matter how hard I try.

Latest kitchen creation: Ha ha! Wait…is that a trick question? You don’t call what I do ‘cooking,’ I think it’s more like ‘warming up.’ I’m a pro at using a microwave. Using anything else sets off my smoke alarm.

Your friends say you’re cheap: Probably because they’re sick of hearing me talk about finding things on sale. One thing you’ll come to know about me: I love a good deal! I wouldn’t say cheap–I prefer fabulously frugal.
