Unless you’re accident-prone, cellphone insurance isn’t likely to pay for itself. The insurance costs between $5 and $6 a month and if you do have a problem, you’ll still need to pay a deductible. Plus, there’s usually exclusions that include water damage or dropped phones. If you have a smartphone, you probably have a manufacturer’s warranty that already covers replacements and repairs. So think twice about paying for cell phone insurance.
