After taking three years off for medical reasons, Bellingham High School graduate Angeli VanLaanen is back, and today’s her day.
This morning she will ski the Sochi halfpipe for her place in Olympic history.
Born and raised in Bellingham, VanLaanen is back on the scene after taking a three-year competition hiatus to combat advanced untreated Lyme disease. Now in remission, Angeli VanLaanen returns to freestyle skiing stronger than ever.
Let’s all cheer her on together Thursday morning starting at 6:30 as we follow her progress in the Sochi Olympics on KAFE 104.1.
The event is not being televised live (although it is scheduled to be part of the primetime coverage tonight) but you can watch it live online here. It will only give you 30 minutes of coverage unless you sign in to your TV provider (Comcast, etc.), so if you don’t have regular TV coverage don’t sign on too early.
