18.7% of Bellingham residents weigh in as “obese” today according to a new study, and that’s actually pretty good. In fact, we’re the fifth least obese community in the country.
Seattle/Tacoma/Bellevue is just a little farther down the list at 22.7%.
Boulder, Colorado continues to have the lowest obesity rate in the nation, at 12.4%. Boulder has had the lowest obesity rate every year but one since Gallup and Healthways began measuring in 2008.
At the other end of the scale, Yakima is the most obese city in Washington, coming in at fourth fattest in the country at 35.7%.
