The Downtown Bellingham Partnership (DBP) has announced the hosts for its second annual Downtown Wine Walk. On Friday, May 13th, various downtown retailers will host wineries from around the state. Attendees will receive a commemorative glass and fifteen tasting tickets, and for four hours be able to sample wine from the following downtown stores: Backcountry Essentials, The Bureau of Historical Investigation, Downtown Emporium, Fringe Boutique, Garys’ Mens and Womens Wear, Greenhouse, Heroine Clothing, Ideal, Kids Northwest, Lisa Crosier Skincare, Mi Shoes, Novato, Otion: The Soap Bar, Spruce, and Third Planet.

Apollo 8 Astronauts at Heritage Flight Museum

On May 14th the Apollo 8 astronauts will reunite for the first time in nearly a decade for ‘An Evening With Apollo 8; Reigniting the Fire,’ at the Heritage Flight Museum. This once in a lifetime opportunity is a fundraising event to support the museum’s mission to honor Veterans and keep history alive. Event attendees will get to spend this intimate evening with Apollo 8 astronauts Frank Borman, Jim Lovell & Bill Anders. David Hartman, journalist and actor, will serve as the program moderator, leading the conversation and discussion. The evening will include a reception with appetizers, dinner and dessert.

The 2016 Roar & Soar 5K is May 14th at Lynden High School. The Lion Cub Dash starts at 8:00am followed by the 5k at 8:30am. This is an all community and family fun-filled event where all proceeds will go to volunteer teams at Fisher, Isom, & Vossbeck Elementary Schools to benefit the children. All ages are welcome!
