Downtown Bellingham Wine Walk

This May, come to downtown Bellingham and enjoy a self-guided wine tasting tour!

How does a Wine Walk work?

Attendees will grab their maps and wristbands at the Downtown Visitors Center at 1306 Commercial St. and visit 10 participating venues, with each one hosting a different Washington winery. Sample endless wines, and at the end of the night return to the Visitors Center to purchase full bottles of your favorites!

Downtown Bellingham’s First Wine Walk

Best. Idea. Ever. The Downtown Bellingham Partnership is hosting a Wine Walk on May 8 in the downtown core. Similar to an Art Walk, attendees are on a self-guided tour of downtown, with different retailers hosting wineries. This is a ticketed event, with the cost of the ticket going towards samples from all of the wineries. At the end, attendees may purchase wine they sampled to take home.

Ten retailers will be hosting wineries: Greenhouse, Garys’, Otion Soap, The Bureau of Historical Investigation, Lulu–Wonderful Things, Naked Clothing, Spruce Stationary, Kids Northwest, Mi Shoes, and Downtown Emporium.

The Skagit Valley College Drama Department announces the Spring Quarter production, Night of the Living Dead directed by Drama Department chair, Damond Morris, in McIntyre Hall May 8th-16th.  Adapted for the stage from George Romero’s Classic Film, seven people are trapped in an isolated farmhouse, held hostage by flesh eating zombies. The play explores disaster and the sacrifices made in desperate situations. Due to scenes of graphic violence, this play is intended for mature audiences.

Showtimes: May 8, 9, 14, 15, 16 @ 7:30 pm; May 9, 16 @ 10 pm

The 33rd Annual Bay View Women’s Run & Walk is Saturday, May 16th. This year the 2 mile Run & Walk, 5K and 10K Runs will start from a new venue, the Padilla Bay Interpretive Center in Bay View, WA.

All are invited to run or walk to help address domestic violence, sexual assault and women’s health issues. The event is sponsored by Soroptimist International of Burlington, Skagit Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services and The Breast Care Center. Pre Register by May 1st to order a beautiful t-shirt and or sweatshirt with artwork by LouAnn Knutzen.
