Honoring Veterans

The Bellingham chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America and other local organizations present the 5th annual event that honors veterans in Whatcom County. The event is at Christ the King Community Church on Meridian next to Cost Cutter. Performers include the Mount Baker Toppers, the Harmony Northwest Chorus, the Saltwater Octet and more! Tickets are $15 at the door; the event is free for members of the U.S. Armed Forces, Reserves or National Guard in uniform. For more details on this event call 201-3877

Ten Thousand Villages Crafts of the World Sale

One of the world’s largest fair trade organizations, Ten Thousand Villages strives to improve the livelihood of tens of thousands of disadvantaged artisans in 37 countries. There will be unique handmade gifts, baskets, textiles, and jewelry. The event is at Good News Fellowship Church in Ferndale, 1252 W. Axton Road, Friday and Saturday. Jeep presents Warren Miller's "Dynasty"

Warren Miller’s Dynasty, the largest action sports film on the planet, is coming to kick off your winter sports season for the 60th year, Friday November 6! Narrated by skiing icon Jonny Mosley and presented in striking high-definition, Warren Miller’s Dynasty showcases fresh cinematography that will get you craving vertical lines, deep powder, and epic adventure! Kids' Harvest Festival

Fun, food, games, prizes, and a 2nd chance to wear your Halloween costume! There will be face-painting, games, prizes, bounce-house, all in a safe, family-friendly environment. For kids pre-k to 6th grade. Admission: $1 or FREE with a non-perishable foodbank donation; 5 FREE tickets if you wear a costume, 10 more FREE tickets if your guardian wears a costume, and additional tickets are 10/$1. The festival is Saturday at Central Lutheran Church at 4pm. Food will be available, so come hungry. Proceeds will benefit Lighthouse Mission. Call 734-7180 for more details.

“We’ve Got Talent” Community Talent Show

Come and watch your friends and neighbors put their best foot forward. This fundraiser for the Deming Library is sponsored by Dodson’s IGA and the Friends of the Deming Library. Show time is 7pm; tickets - $5 adults, $3 student, children under 12 are free.

Homemade Memories Craft Fair

This annual event sponsored by Whatcom Homeschool Association features 29 vendors selling handcrafted goods. There will be a selection of Christmas crafts, autumn crafts, hand sewn and crocheted items, original art, jewelry,wood creations and baked goods. Stop by the concessions stand for homemade pastries, coffee and a fresh hot lunch. The event is from 8:30am to 4:00pm at the Bloedel Donovan Beach Pavilion Building. For more info call 966-4796. Project Santa Claus Car Cruise for Kids

November 8, 2009 Collector Cars will gather at the parking lot by Chubby's Diner at 4277 Guide Meridian St. 10:30 a.m. there will be a police escort downtown to the Court House where they'll meet County Executive Pete Kremen in the Court House Rotunda for a small gathering to collect toys and cash being donated by the car club members and other car enthusiasts to be donated to the Project Santa Claus officially organized by our own Sheriff's dept, Search and Rescue and the Firefighters.
