The Blue & Silver Streak!

Join the Squalicum High School Class of 2013 on Thursday, May 17th for the Blue & Silver Streak! It’s a healthy spring fun run/walk starting at Roosevelt Elementary School.  Registration will begin at 6pm, runners and walkers will leave at 6:30pm.  They’ll have prizes, snacks, and water available at the finish.  The registration fee is $10, and 100% of that fee will go toward the Class of 2013’s senior trip. The Annual BTC Welding Rodeo

The Welding Rodeo at Bellingham Technical College is a free event that is open to the public. It starts on Friday, May 18th with an amateur competition and ends on Saturday, May 19th with a professional competition. The theme for this year’s event is "Into the Garden." The amateur event runs Friday from 8am-5pm. On Saturday, the professional competition starts at 8am and ends after a live auction of the professional sculptures, which starts at approximately 5:15pm. Join in the fun at the BTC Campus on both days, 3028 Lindbergh Ave, in Bellingham.

4th Annual Children's Consignment Sale

Lynden Kids Market is a Community-wide Children’s Consignment Sale created for mothers to sell their unwanted, gently used, children items (clothing, bedding, books, toys, baby items, etc).  Check out their one-stop shopping with other local mom's, and purchase a variety of quality second-hand items at reasonable garage sale prices! They will also be hosting local vendors who create handcrafted kid items! Volunteer and be able to shop before the Public at the "exclusive" volunteer-only pre-sale on Thursday, May 17th! Amy's Place Golf Tournament

It’s a beautiful weekend for a golf tournament for Amy's Place at Raspberry Ridge on Saturday, May 19th. Shot gun start at 9:00am. Enjoy 18 holes of golf; lunch, silent auction, and raffle. $50.00 per golfer; $200.00 per teams of 4 golfers; and $25.00 for non-golfers. Each golf participant will receive a gift worth over $50.00. Bellingham Veteran Navigators Event

In honor of Armed Forces Day, the Bellingham Veteran Navigators will be hosting a free event for Veterans.  Stop by if you have questions, would like help accessing your VA benefits, enrolling in health care, assistance in applying for service connected compensation or to get a copy of your DD214.  (Bring you DD214 (Military Discharge Papers) if you have it).  The event will be held Saturday, May 19th from 9am-12pm at the Bellingham Vet Center, 3800 Byron Avenue in Bellingham.

The 30th Annual Bay View Women’s Walk/Run

Each year, Soroptimist International of Burlington and Skagit Runners host the annual Bay View Women’s Walk/Run benefiting Skagit Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services, and Women’s Health Issues. This event includes a 2 mile walk, 2 mile fun run and a 10K race which will be held at 10am, Saturday, May 19th at Bayview State Park. Prizes will be awarded. Over the years this event has brought together thousands of participants and volunteers to enjoy exercise, fellowship and the satisfaction of supporting a worthy cause. This is for all ages and capabilities! It’s a great family, friends and community event. Teams are encouraged to participate and to show their colors or wear costumes.
